Programs

The design and evaluation specialization of the MS program prepares students to assume professional positions in instructional design and/or evaluation. All MS students will be required to complete at least 12 credit hours each year to remain enrolled in the program (prior to completing project coursework).

IT & Cybersecurity (MS)

This degree will prepare students for information technology (IT) and cybersecurity leadership positions, needed by so many organizations today. The curriculum addresses the many applications and developments of IT and Cybersecurity, focusing on those in science, engineering, and technology. The MS degree is awarded to students who have mastered a professional level of education in core and related areas of information technologies and cybersecurity.

Mechanical Engineering (MS)

The purpose of the MS program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to provide a world-class education to students pursuing a master’s degree, in an atmosphere enlightened by the principles of the gospel.

Special Education (MS)

The BYU Special Education MS program prepares graduates to provide collaborative leadership in schools to facilitate the academic and social development of all students, including individuals with disabilities with challenging behavior. The program includes a verified course sequence to prepare graduates to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts. In addition, graduates learn about systemic approaches to creating equitable and effective learning environments through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The masters program is open to teachers, special and general educators, as well as students from other disciplines. Classes are offered in the evening to accommodate teachers’ work schedules during fall, winter, and spring semesters.

Technology (MS)

The Technology (MS) degree with a specialization in Technology and Engineering Education is expected to be completed within three years.

The Technology and Engineering Education specialization helps students who have graduated in technology and/or engineering teacher education or related areas to be more effective leaders. The opportunity will be theirs to achieve knowledge and skills for leadership in teaching, supervising, and managing in schools or industry. Through a research-oriented thesis, students will develop writing and research abilities related to technology and engineering education.
