Motivational interviewing (MI) is a collaborative and goal-oriented counseling style designed to increase motivation and commitment in clients. MI is well suited for clients who are ambivalent about making personal or lifestyle changes because the counselor helps the client make their own argument for change. This course is intended to provide students with a thorough and practical introduction to this counseling approach.
