Basic research fields in linguistics (i.e., phonology, philology, syntax, psycholinguistics), how research differs in each area, and specific theoretical issues associated with each. Bibliographical and field research methods and techniques of reporting findings.

Evaluate published research

Analyze and evaluate professional publications relating to different fields of Hispanic Linguistics.

Design research proposals

Design viable research proposals in selected areas of linguistics.

Present research in writing and orally

Demonstrate academic writing and presentation skills using an appropriate style guide (e.g. APA, Chicago, MLA).
