Major methods of quantitative research used in communications studies.

Application of Research Methods

Students will learn how to apply quantitative research methods to analyze problems, test hypotheses and recommend solutions.

Students will learn quantitative approaches to discovery, their appropriate methods of data collection, and the subsequent tools for analysis.

Research Procedures

Students will learn methods of content analysis, survey, and experimental design. Statistical procedures will include descriptive statistics, cross-tabs, chi-square, Student's t-test, ANOVA, correlation, regression, and exploratory factor analysis.  Other faculty may be invited to present their expertise in methodologies and statistical analyses.
