To develop a deep and abiding appreciation and understanding of religious faiths, doctrines, practices, spiritual sensitivities, rites and rituals, and fundamental belief systems other than those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Also to foster an understanding and awareness of how other religions and faith-based traditions function in a modern military setting.
Lectures
Summarize guest speaker lectures (reflection papers) and recall the “so what” of the learning experience.
Faith-based Traditions
Report experience with three different faith-based practices describing their rituals, traditions, and order of worship.
Rites and Ceremonies
Explore the similarities and differences between different faith-based practices and be able to compare and, contrast rites, ordinances, and religious ceremonies.
