The Chaplaincy Ma is open to Latter-day Saint military and healthcare chaplain candidates endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Office of Military Relations and Chaplain Services. It is designed to provide advanced preparation for service as a military chaplain. Healthcare chaplain students can engage core chaplain program classes and draw from other departments on campus to fulfill their 90 hours. The core curriculum focuses primarily on the following areas of study: Religious Studies, Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Doctrines of the Restoration, Armed Forces and healthcare Chaplaincy History, Christian Theology and History, World Religions or World Religions and Security/Area Analysis, Pastoral Counseling, Military Ministry, Professional Standards and Ethics and Clinical Pastoral Education.
