Questions and Answers

Students will be able to answer the following three questions: 1) What is 'contrast'?, 2) How is the phonological content of lexical items represented in the mind?, and 3) What is the nature of alteration? from the point of view of three different theories: 1) Optimality Theory, 2) "Fundamentalist" Generative Phonology, and 3) Usage-based Phonology
