Success strategies in graduate programs. Identifying appropriate direction of research and study. Research tools as aids in decision making: strategies, literature, logic, survey techniques, research design, statistics, computers. Preparing proposals for research papers and thesis research; organizing first three thesis chapters.

Course Outcomes

  1. Students will understand the nature of technology-oriented research and how it relates to their chosen field of study
  2. Students will understand the fundamentals of qualitative and quantitative research methods and how to apply them to a question in their field of study
  3. Students will complete a detailed research proposal
  4. Students will write the introduction, literature review, and methods section for their thesis or a research paper
