Introduction to methods of qualitative inquiry for teachers studying their own and others' practice or other issues in education.

Qualitative Data Analysis

  • Students will be able to identify the distinctions between the paradigms deployed in studies of teaching, learning, and teacher education.
  • Students will be able to articulate the design of a qualitative inquiry including the purpose and intent, the argument for choices of methodology and methods and an outline of the sample, procedures, data collection and analysis strategies to be used.
  • Students will be able to evaluate the quality of qualitative inquiries within the standards and frameworks of the studies being examined.
  • Students will be able to analyze qualitative data utilizing appropriate strategies.
