STEM Research & Assessment

3.0 Credit, 3 Lecture, 0 Lab
Contemporary modes of assessment and evaluation in STEM education and research. Complementing and extending traditional modes of assessment and evaluating quality, analyzing trends, and drawing conclusions regarding the effects of STEM education on student learning.

STEM research knowledge

  • Candidates will identify and describe researchers in STEM education and their connection to STEM education.

Evaluate Research

  • Candidates will evaluate STEM research and assessment, especially as it applies to national and international research and policy.

Conduct Research

  • Candidates will collaborate with other members of a research team to develop a STEM-related research question, design and carry out a study to address that question, and produce a paper reporting the findings of the study.

Research Ethics

  • Candidates will explore ethical issues related to STEM research and assessment.
