  • Candidates will gain knowledge about and understanding of some of the major ideas and trends in the history of teaching and teacher education.

Connecting past and current problems and opportunities

  • Drawing on this knowledge and understanding, candidates will be able to recognize and articulate connections between past and current problems and opportunities in teaching and teacher education.

Analyze reform and policy

  • Drawing on this knowledge and understanding, candidates will be able to situate and critically analyze current reform proposals and policy statements in ways that help them better perform their role as responsible stewards in their schools and communities.
