History, concepts, issues, current trends, and professional practices associated with becoming an effective advocate for physical education at local, regional, and national levels.

Professional Vitality

  • Demonstrate an understanding of professional vitality through participation in professional organizations in the roles of member, participant, and leadership through class conference presentation submission.

Current Literature

  • Understand the current literature on advocacy and its influence on physical education through three research reaction papers.

Legislation

  • Demonstrate ability to identify the current national and state legislation and its potential impact on physical education at all levels through a written examination.

Grants

  • Be able to identify and understand the application process for three sources of grants for the improvement of K-12 physical education through a written examination.

SSPE Model

  • Identify and understand the concepts of the SSPE model as presented through research and develop and present an advocacy plan based on this model for physical education for a local school district

Christian Living

  • Be examples of Christian living by being kind and attentive during class discussions, classmates' presentations, and looking for opportunities to serve one another.
