Theories, concepts, and practices associated with design and delivery of physical education in the public schools and in physical education teacher education.
Curriculum Theory
- Demonstrate an understanding of curriculum theory and design by: a) reading pertinent information on these topics and completing three reaction papers, b) presenting and leading the class discussion on one curricular model, and c) participating in class discussion.
Curriculum Application
- Demonstrate the ability to apply curricula theoretical concepts by completing a curriculum project that is approved by the instructor. For example, a school curriculum at one level ( e.g., elementary, middle, high school, or college). This should include the components listed on the Curriculum evaluation sheet.
Instructional Theory
- Show an understanding of instructional theory and design by: effectively modeling different teaching styles in the classroom and in the gym.
Demonstrate Understanding
- Show an understanding of curriculum theory and instructional design principles by passing a midterm and final test.
