Social Impact Service Design

Social service design thinking with a focus on providing students with the understanding and skills to design, promote, and deliver innovative services with a social impact. Integrates design thinking, lean impact, nudge theory, service management, and social marketing concepts and applies them to services designed to solve social problems. Students will learn tools and techniques focused on empathizing with the beneficiaries of the innovation, defining the beneficiaries' needs and the problems they need solved, ideating to create ideas for innovative solutions, prototyping creative solutions, and testing those solutions.

Create a Public Service

Produce a service management/implementation plan.

Provision of Public Service

Learn to appreciate the individuality, importance, and value of citizens, clients, and customers in the corpoduction of public service.

Relate Theory to Practice

Relate service management theory to a specific public or nonprofit service context.
