Advanced study of capital markets, debt instruments, bond issues, debt servicing, and financial disclosure requirements.
Expanding Base Knowledge
- Students will differentiate the roles of the various bond market participants, identify the various bond types with their unique structuring characteristics, and apply them to specific project purposes.
Process Skills and Critical Thinking
- Students will create various amortization schedules, calculate bond yields utilized in municipal finance, and appropriately size a bond issue.
Current issues and Market Analysis
- Students will monitor and interpret current market trends and regulatory events based upon the knowledge and understanding they receive in class.
Expanding Base Knowledge and Governmental Management Practic
- Students will recognize key rating ratios and best practices.
