Fundamental concepts in molecular genetics and protein biochemistry with the following emphases: experimental approaches, model organisms, quantitative reasoning, and statistical analysis.

Molecular Structure

Students will be able to explain the importance of molecular structure and function on maintaining proper cell and tissue function

Effective Writing

Students will demonstrate skills in writing with organization, clarity, and information

Relationship Development

Students will interact and develop relationships with other graduate students and faculty members from different departments

Literature Analysis

Students will demonstrate skills in reading, understanding, and critiquing papers from the scientific literature.
