Scientific Literacy

This is a graduate course with the goal of enabling graduate students to develop skills for finding, reading, and presenting current scientific literature.
Trends in Pathogenesis
Students will become familiar with advances in microbial pathogenesis by critically evaluating current literature in the discipline.
Scientific Literacy
Students will read and comprehend reports in the current scientific literature regarding microbiology, molecular biology, and bioinformatic research.
Scientific Presentation
Students will develop skills in making effective scientific presentations using high standards of clarity, relevance, and logic.
Scientific Literature Review
Students will develop the skills to be confident in exploring scientific literature and finding unanswered scientific questions, even outside of your expertise.
