Advanced Practicum
By the end of this practicum, you will be able to demonstrate developmentally-appropriate competency within the following student learning outcomes:
Provide competent mental health services in the Comprehensive Clinic or other approved site under licensed supervision.Conceptualize and assess cases using MFT theoretical models and a comprehensive systemic and diagnostic framework.
- Develop professional treatment plans for working with couples, families, individuals (adults and children), and groups including appropriate DSM-IV diagnoses and assessment, goals for treatment, and measures of client progress, attending to diversity and ethical issues.
- Demonstrate skilled delivery of interventions in therapy sessions.
- Demonstrate effective use of self as a therapist through self awareness of personal issues and emotional availability to clients.
- Document ethical and efficient case management and record keeping abilities.
