Derivation of partial differential equations of continuum mechanics. Closed-form solution of classical problems in elasticity. Theory of beams, plates, and axisymmetric shells with closed-form solutions. Large displacement strain tensors, stress tensors, equilibrium equations, beam theory, and plate theory. Constitutive theory including nonlinear elasticity, viscoelasticity, plasticity, and hyperelasticity.
Coninuum and Solid Mechanics
Students will be able to correctly apply their knowledge of coninuum and solid mechanics.
