Advanced Hydrogeology

Hours

3.0 Credit, 3 Lecture, 0 Lab
Equations governing fluid flow through saturated porous media under various geologic conditions; applying hydraulic characteristics to analysis of well and aquifer conditions.

Theoretical Background

Develop an in-depth understanding of the theoretical and mathematical basis of aquifer boundary conditions and the computation of aquifer parameters (hydraulic conductivity, storage coefficient, and transmsissivity).

Applied Technology

  • Develop a working use of the methods of aquifer parameter analysis including graphical and computer based methods.

Problem Solving Techniques

Enhance the ability to solve problems by analyzing real world data sets ( including a final project), some of which do not have a unique solution.

Writing Skills

Become better science writers by weekly practice.
