Petrophysics & Reservoir
Hours
3.0 Credit, 3 Lecture, 0 Lab
Prerequisites
Advanced use of well log tools combined with direct (core) or analog (outcrop) lithologic information to characterize underground petroleum or groundwater reservoirs.
Learning Outcome 1
Integrate well logging with such geologic information as fracture data, rock texture information, fluid pressures, degree of fluid (e.g., oil and water) mixing, stress measurements, etc.
Learning Outcome 2
Become acquainted with advanced borehole geophysics tools and rock classification methods for rocks penetrated in boreholes for petroleum or groundwater exploration.
