Exercise Physiology

Hours

3.0 Credit, 3 Lecture, 0 Lab

Semester

Fall
Adjustments made by the body to accommodate physical activity.

Physiological Systems

Students will be able to provide a detailed description of the following physiological systems in the human body (neuromuscular, cardiovascular, cellular energy metabolism). Furthermore, they will be able to describe how these systems function at rest and during periods of physical work.

Exercise Adaptations

Students will have sufficient understanding to describe the structural and functional adaptations that occur to the human body in response to chronic physical activity (i.e., exercise training).

Cellular Mechanisms

Students will be able to explain the cellular mechanisms responsible for the structural and functional adaptations that occur in response to exercise training.
