Scholarly issues in the history of Western rhetoric

Students in English 612 will use key texts in the literature of Western rhetoric from classical antiquity to the present to identify and exploreissues of contemporary scholarly import in the development of rhetorical theory and practice.

Conference-length scholarly paper

Students in English 612 will produce a scholarly essay on a topic of current interest in the history of rhetoric. The essay will be of conference-paper length and suitable for professional presentation.
