Reconfig Computing Systems

Introduction to FPGA devices, lab experience developing FPGA-based configurable systems.

1.

Understand the major steps of the FPGA CAD tool flow from synthesis through bitstream generation.

2.

Be able to implement a variety of the required CAD algorithms as software programs such as tech mapping, placement, and routing.

3.

Be able to read, analyze, and discuss the research literature related to configurable computing. This includes both historical perspective papers as well as current research papers.

4.

Develop a broad understanding of the architectural, CAD, and application-level issues related to the use of configurable technologies for configurable computing.
