Sci Writing & Ethics

Professional standards. Manuscript preparation and attendance at seminars by faculty and visiting scientists.

Outcome 1

Students will complete a major writing project that partially fulfills their requirements for a graduate degree; examples include a research proposal, a review, or an original research manuscript.

Outcome 2

Students will identify and discuss ethical dilemmas in scientific research and resolve them in a thoughtful manner.

Outcome 3

Students will practice organizing oral presentations, documents, sections, paragraphs, and sentences so that readers can understand their ideas.

Outcome 4

Students will develop the vocabulary and skills needed to constructively critique others’ writing.
