Semester
Fall
Primary literature used to explore modern concepts of physiology at the cellular and molecular level. Topics include muscle function, transport mechanisms, cell signaling, and ion channels.
Physiology Manuscripts
Students will exhibit the ability to critically evaluate current physiology manuscripts and explain the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscripts and the individual experiments in each manuscript.
Effective Communication
Students will demonstrate the oral, interpretive, and organizational skills required to orally present a scientific study in a concise, informative, and professional manner.
Concept Articulation
Students will be able to articulate the key concepts of modern physiology in written and oral formats.
Skill Mastery
Students in this course will demonstrate that they have mastered the key elements of research design and methodologies employed by scientists on the frontier of modern physiological research
