Advanced undergraduate or graduate-level course in topics relating to cell biology and physiology. Topics vary. 550R courses have a defined curriculum, including graded assignments and exams. Expectations and learning outcomes will be specified in the syllabus.

Advanced Understanding of Scientific Principles

Students will demonstrate an advanced understanding of scientific principles, ideas, methods, techniques, and trends in modern cell biology and physiology.

Critical Analysis of Scientific Literature

Students will read, interpret, evaluate, and discuss cell biology and physiology research papers.

Synthesis Project

Students will produce a competent and clearly composed scientific synthesis project (review paper, research proposal, poster presentation, or oral presentation).
